Weapons span seven categories with distinct special moves. In Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, weapons change how you fight: the longsword rewards attacks immediately after a backdash, while Cestus gauntlets favor fast combos up close. The whip also gives you a way to swing and pull yourself through traversal areas.
How do Castlevania: Belmont's Curse weapons play differently?
There are seven weapon families, and each has its own special move.
| Weapon or ability | How it plays | What to do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Longsword | Balanced combat, with extra damage when you attack immediately after a backdash | Make your retreat part of your next attack |
| Cestus | Shorter range, faster combos and increasing damage as you land hits | Get close enough for your sequence to connect |
| Burnt Sword of Fierbois | Joan's weapon, with a charge attack | Try its charged strike after earning it |
| Arcana Whip grapple | Can lead into an immediate attack or a traversal swing | Aim at an enemy or an anchor to suit your next move |
Pick the longsword if you like to backdash and counter. Pick Cestus if you'd rather stay in an enemy's face and chain hits.
Joan's Burnt Sword of Fierbois is a boss weapon reward. You get it by beating Joan in Prison Tower.
How do you use the whip in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse?
Aim with the left stick and use R2 for the Arcana Whip grapple; round anchors let you swing, while diamond anchors pull you toward them.

The legendary holy whip is called Vampire Killer. Whip anchors come in two shapes:
- Point the left stick toward the anchor you want to reach.
- Hold R2 on a round anchor to attach and swing like a pendulum.

- Target a diamond anchor when you want to be pulled toward it instead of swinging.
You can also grapple enemies and follow with an immediate attack.
How do you get and use Cestus?
Reach the secret area by aiming the whip upward, then interact with R1 to collect the Cestus reward.

Equip Cestus from the reward prompt or select it in the Arsenal. Look for the gauntlet slot beneath the sword row.

Cestus has an uppercut special move. Its damage grows the more hits you land in a row, and players who tried it found the uppercut especially strong.
