About the Game
Set in Paris in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse follows Rose Belmont, daughter of Trevor Belmont, through streets overrun by monsters and a looming castle. The Vampire Killer whip serves as both a weapon and a way to swing through the environment. Seven weapon categories and relics let players customize combat, while defeated bosses become Arcana in Rose's tarot cards, granting spells and special actions. The game is published by KONAMI, with development by KONAMI and Evil Empire and advisory support from Motion Twin. Visit the official Steam store.

FAQ
The official title is Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, with a colon after Castlevania.
It launches on October 15, 2026. In New York every platform unlocks at 12:00 AM EDT on October 15, which is still the evening of October 14 on the US West Coast. In London consoles unlock at 12:00 AM BST and Steam at 5:00 AM BST.
PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam and Nintendo Switch. There is no separate Switch 2 version: the Switch version runs on Switch 2 through backward compatibility and plays the same as on Switch.
On Steam in the US the Standard Edition is $29.99 and the Midnight Edition is $39.99. The extra $10 gets you the Trevor and Sypha costumes, the Family's Grace relic and the Digital Sound & Art Gallery, a separate app with over 100 pieces of artwork and the soundtrack.
Yes. Evil Empire, the studio that worked on Dead Cells and its Return to Castlevania DLC, made it with KONAMI, and Motion Twin advised. KONAMI calls it a 2D action-exploration game: you unlock new abilities and come back to earlier areas to reach places you couldn't before, with whip swinging, hidden rooms, puzzles and boss fights along the way.
At minimum you need 64-bit Windows 11, an Intel Core i5-8400, 16 GB RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, DirectX 11, and 10 GB of available storage. For the recommended setup, step up to an Intel Core i5-10400 and an RTX 3060; everything else stays the same.
It's canon and it's a brand-new story, not a remake. It's set in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse and after the events of Curse of Darkness, and follows Trevor Belmont's daughter, Rose.
Plan on about 20 hours if you want the true ending: that's how long the RPGFan reviewer needed to meet its requirements. Going for all achievements takes longer, and one of them asks you to finish the game in under four hours. See the ending guide.
It runs at 30 fps on Switch, and the same on Switch 2. The download is about 4.2 GB, or 6 GB if you buy the Midnight Edition.
