Castlevania: Belmont's Curse has three endings: bad, normal and true. In both the normal and true endings Rose defeats Dracula and saves Paris, but only the true ending closes her story: the normal ending leaves the curse in place, while the true ending trades her anger for hope. Spoilers for both endings follow.
How many endings does Castlevania: Belmont's Curse have?
There are three, and each one has its own achievement:
| Ending | Achievement |
|---|---|
| Bad ending | Belmont's fall |
| Normal ending | The hunt goes on |
| True ending | Curse lifted |
All three are needed for the Platinum, together with 100% completion and a finish in under four hours. See the achievements page for the full list.
The true ending takes the most work. The RPGFan reviewer needed nearly twenty hours to meet its requirements. Konami has not published the exact conditions; some players report that 100% completion is what unlocks it, but that is not confirmed yet.
What happens in the normal ending?
Dracula is defeated and Paris is saved, but the curse is still there. Trevor tells Rose she did it; Rose answers "for now", because as long as the curse remains, the world's misery will only get worse and Dracula has already sown the seeds of his return.

Rose swears she will keep fighting until Dracula and his curse are gone forever, however long it takes. The scene ends on the hope that one day the world will see the morning dawn. The sky stays red: this is a victory, not an ending.
What happens in the true ending?
Dracula is defeated and Rose's mother, Sypha, is avenged. This time nobody says "for now": Rose says that for the first time there is hope for everyone, and both of them feel Dracula's gloom will not return for a long time.

When she hears "I am sorry for what happened to your mother's cards", Rose says it is all right: the cards taught her the lesson she needed. Her life has always been measured in anger and death, and now she wants to measure it by something else. The last shot is her hand raised toward the sun.

What does the Castlevania: Belmont's Curse ending mean?
Rose starts the game carrying Dracula's curse in her right arm and a need for revenge for her mother. The tarot cards Sypha made for her are what she uses to seal every boss.
| Normal ending | True ending | |
|---|---|---|
| Dracula | Defeated | Defeated |
| The curse | Still remains | Lifted (the achievement is called Curse lifted) |
| Rose | Swears to keep fighting | Lets go of anger and death |
| Sky | Red | Clear blue, daylight over Paris |
In the normal ending Rose is still defined by the fight. In the true ending something has happened to her mother's cards, but their lesson stays with her: revenge is finished and she chooses what her life is about. The RPGFan reviewer called the true ending "a little too cheesy", but agreed that Rose's personal arc fully pays off.
What is the bad ending?
No footage or detailed description of the bad ending is available yet. This section will be updated once it is.
